‌                                                          Successful Case of Farm Wastewater Treatment

Project Background

A large farm for cows produces high-concentration organic wastewater every day. The wastewater composition is complex and contains a large amount of suspended solids (SS), organic matter (COD, BOD), ammonia nitrogen and phosphorus and other pollutants. Direct discharge will cause serious pollution to the environment, so it is necessary to adopt efficient chemical flocculation + biological treatment process to ensure that the discharge or reuse meets the standards.

Wastewater treatment scale

Daily treatment capacity: 500 m³/day

Wastewater characteristics:

COD: 3000-5000 mg/L ,BOD: 1500-2500 mg/L

SS: 2000-4000 mg/L , Ammonia nitrogen: 200-400 mg/L

pH: 6.5-8.5

Treatment process

1. Pretreatment (solid-liquid separation)

Use mechanical screen to remove large particle impurities and reduce the subsequent treatment load.

2. Chemical flocculation treatment

Polyaluminum chloride (PAC): dosage 300-500 mg/L (i.e., 300-500 g per ton of water) is used to neutralize the colloid charge, for  alum flowers, and accelerate sedimentation.

Cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM): Choose our Floc5630, dosage 5-10 mg/L (i.e., 5-10 g per ton of water), ion degree 30%, enhance flocculation effect, and improve sludge dewatering performance.

Sedimentation tank

After flocculation, the sewage enters the sedimentation tank, and the supernatant enters the subsequent biological treatment

after sludge sedimentation.

Biochemical treatment (anaerobic + aerobic)

Use UASB (anaerobic reactor) + A/O (anoxic-aerobic) process to further degrade organic matter and remove nitrogen and phosphorus.

Customer benefits

Efficient sedimentation: The combination of PAC+CPAM increases the sludge sedimentation rate by 50% and reduces the volume of the sedimentation tank.

Low-cost operation: Compared with traditional methods, the dosage of reagents is reduced by 30%, and the sludge dewatering

efficiency is improved.

Stable compliance: The treated water quality complies with the Pollutant Emission Standards for Livestock and Poultry Farming

(GB 18596-2001).

Case summary

The farm uses the "chemical flocculation + biological treatment" process, combined with polyaluminium chloride (PAC) and cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM), to successfully achieve efficient sewage treatment, stable operation, and controllable costs, providing a replicable solution for similar farms.
